Each two-vegetarian capsule serving of Alpha-Actin contains 500 mg hops (Humulus lupulus) cone extract supplying 30%) alpha and iso-alpha acids. 2 capsules are also fortified with enzymes: 200 mg of bromelain and 75 mg papain. And herbs with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties: 100 mg of white willow and 50 mg each of ginger root and turmeric root SOURCES

What gives beer its bitter flavour? The alpha and iso-alpha acids in hops flower cones. However, you would have to drink hundreds of beers to get the same amount of alpha and iso-alpha acids found in two capsules. Researchers in the 1990s reviewed approximately 230 botanicals in search of the most effective in reducing inflammation and the pain involved with inflammation.

A specialized extract of hops cones containing alpha and iso-alpha acids, was found to contain the greatest potential in helping to support the bodys natural response to pain and inflammation. MECHANISM OF ACTION Hops alpha acid extract has been shown to inhibit inductible nitric oxide synthase, prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) and other key enzymatic and non-enzymatic pain pathways caused by inflammation in a placebo controlled clinical trial.
